1.1. Aims of the course
The subject and its expected results respond to the following approaches and objectives:
The expected results of the subject respond to the proposition that the students, based on the fundamental psychosocial basis that they acquire, can have the tools that allow them to evaluate and solve practical problems applied to the context of human social interaction.
1.2. Context and importance of this course in the degree
Social Psychology I, is the first psychosocial subject taken by students in the degree of Psychology at the University of Zaragoza.
The meaning of the subject in the degree is to provide the basis from which, together with the subject of Social Psychology II, the fundamental epistemological, historical, theoretical and methodological bases so that the psychosocial competencies of the rest of the subjects of the area and specialty of Social Psychology.
1.3. Recommendations to take this course
It is necessary to have basic computer skills. It is recommended that the student follow the study rhythm set in the classes and that they participate and get involved in them in a way responsable.
It is essential to follow the course on the Moodle platform and, when you need to communicate with the teacher, you should contact the teacher by email and use the corporate email (NIA@unizar.es) including your name and surnames and subject that is taking it.
2.1. Competences
Upon passing the subject, the student will be more competent for the following:
(1) Know different theoretical models of Social Psychology and be able to critically assess their contributions and limitations.
(9) Know the different fields of application of Psychology and have the necessary knowledge to influence and promote the quality of life in individuals, groups, communities and organizations in different contexts: educational, clinical and health, work and organizations and community .
Respect and promote Human Rights, as well as its application to people with special educational needs, which implies the knowledge and exercise of the principles of equal opportunities, non-discrimination, pro-social behavior, universal accessibility and design for all people .
(16) Know how to describe and measure interaction processes, group dynamics, and group and intergroup structure.
2.2. Learning goals
In order to pass this subject, the student must demonstrate the following results:
1. Who understands and knows both the meaning of the Social Psychology label, as well as its epistemology, object, history and main research methods.
2. Who understands, analyzes and explains the main psychosocial phenomena that occur in social interaction, especially social cognition (perception of people, attribution, identity, attitudes), as well as the contextual factors that affect them.
3. Understand and know the main theoretical perspectives (psychoanalysis, gestalt, behaviorism, symbolic interactionism) with respect to these psychosocial phenomena, being able to apply them.
4. Is capable of proposing solutions regarding potential problems that may arise in relation to such psychosocial phenomena (eg biases, racism).
2.3. Importance of learning goals
The ability to understand, know and apply psychosocial phenomena is essential, both when it comes to fully understanding the social dimension of the human being, and to have the knowledge, skills and attitude that allow analysis, evaluation and intervention in the psychological context and psychosocial.
3. Assessment (1st and 2nd call)

The student must demonstrate that he / she has achieved the expected learning outcomes through the following evaluation activities.
1. Theoretical part: it will be based on the degree of acquisition of the different skills mentioned above. Likewise, the active participation in the theoretical sessions and the formal delivery and adaptation of the individual activities that the teacher may propose will be taken into account.
- Exam: Multiple answer questions (T / F or multiple choice -three or four- options) and / or short questions.
The evaluation of the theoretical part will account for 50% of the final grade for the course.
2. Practical part: the active participation in the practical activities will be taken into consideration, as well as the delivery, formal adaptation and quality of the activities, in order to show mastery of the instrumental skills expected for a student who is studying The subject.
2.1. Participation in the practical sessions: carrying out activities in a group or individual way in the practical sessions.
- Exam: multiple answer questions (T / F or multiple choice -three or four- options) and / or short questions and / or development on the practical sessions.
The evaluation of the practical part will account for 40% of the final grade for the course.
Requirement level: the student must pass both parts (theory and practice), that is, the student must achieve at least 50% of the mark of the total score in each of the parts (theory and practice) to add both grades to the final grade.
3. Resolution and analysis of cases and / or preparation of projects and studies: this part of the evaluation will be based on the degree of acquisition of the different skills, both theoretical and practical.
The evaluation of resolution and analysis of cases and / or preparation of projects and studies will suppose 10% of the final grade of the subject, application of the contents of the theory and practice part of the subject.
Requirement level: only when the student has passed the theoretical part (1) and the practical part (2) of the subject, the evaluation collected in point 3 will be added.
To pass the course, the student must achieve at least a score of 5 out of 10 points (See assumptions 1, 2 and 3 of the proposed evaluation).
* Plagiarism, in any of the points that make up the evaluation of the subject, involves failure.
Note: In the event of a health alarm, the teaching and evaluation of the subject would be done electronically, not in person.

4.1. General methodological presentation
The learning process that has been designed for this subject is based on the following:
The learning process is designed in such a way that the theoretical contents are closely related to the practical and applied cases.
The design of the learning process includes a series of basic and complementary readings, the completion of case problems to be solved and the replication of a classic social psychology experiment.
For this they will be carried out

Academic sessions: led well by the teacher with active participation of the students.
- Master class 30 hours (1.2 ECTS)
- Resolution of problems and cases 20 hours (0.8 ECTS)
Autonomous individual and group work: for the follow-up of the theoretical sessions and the realization of the group practical work, it is necessary a time of autonomous work by the student individually and in group work 40 hours (1.6 ECTS)
Seminars and debate: the different results obtained from the autonomous work periods will be presented and debated in class.
